Quilting 102 with a Panel!
In this 2 session class we will be learning the next step in quilting! We will focus on how to make half square triangles and how to work with a beautiful panel. Featuring fabric from Harvest Wishes by Deb Strain for Moda. Perfect to get you in the autumnal sprit!
This Class is held over 2 weekend Saturdays and both are required to complete quilt top.
Date for class session 1: Saturday September 23, 2023 10:30am - 3:00 pm with a 1/2 hr lunch.
Date for class session 2: Saturday September 30, 2023 10:30am - 3:00 pm with a 1/2 hr lunch.
Please note:
Class Sesson #1 we will go over how to create the universal quilt unit - the Half Square Triangle. We will focus on how to mark fabrics, sew accurately, press, and accurately "square up" your pressed half square triangles.
Class Sesson #2 we will cover how to trim our panels to correct size and how to sew and add our borders to our panel. Goal is to complete our quilt tops by the end of class.
Student will be required to bring the following items to class for both sessions:

- A Sewing Machine in working order and fitted with a sewing machine needle.
- Sewing Machine thread in a neutral color. I suggest Aurifil 50wt thread in color 2000.
- Rotary cutter, rulers and mats.
- Quilting Pins for piecing
- Scissors
- Irons and pressing boards
- Frixion pens for marking
- Design Boards
- Tons of fun!

This class is for the confident or advanced beginner to more advanced quilter as you will be required to know basic quilting skills and be comfortable with 1/4" seam allowances

Requirements:
Student must have elementary knowledge of quilt piecing including: 1/4" seam allowance, how to use a rotary cutter safely, pressing seams. We will be moving at a pace that I will not be covering introductory topics and techniques.
